This month, Citizen debuted a black-coated titanium version of its mechanical Fujitsubo diver’s watch.

The Promaster Diver Automatic “Fujitsubo” Super Titanium NB6025 comes in a nicely sized 42 mm x 12.3 mm titanium case that’s been treated with a dark PVD coating that both reduces scratching and gives the watch a matte dark gray appearance.

Sitting on top of the case is a unidirectional rotating titanium dive bezel with a black graduated count-up scale (0-60). In the center, is a thick sapphire crystal, which both protects the watch from water intrusion and gives the watch a premium look thanks to the beveled edge.

Underneath the dial is an attractive gray-colored gradient dial which is lighter in the center and fades to a darker hue as it reaches the perimeter. There are twelve large rectangle-shaped, applied, luminous hour markers that offer excellent visibility at a glance. A pencil-shaped minute hand, Mercedes tipped hour hand, and lollipop seconds hand, and a luminous pip on the bezel at 12 displays the time day or night. The applied hour marker at 3 o’clock has been cleverly cut down in size to integrate the date window without throwing off the dial design.

Citizen automatic mechanical caliber 9051 — which sits behind a solid titanium screw-in caseback — powers the time and date for up to 42 hours when fully wound. The Japanese-made movement has an antimagnetic rating of 16000 gausses and is adjusted to a level of accuracy of -10/+20 seconds per day before leaving the factory.

The Promaster Diver Automatic Fujitsubo Super Titanium (Ref. NB6025-59H) is water resistant to a depth rating of 200 meters and meets the ISO6425 diver’s requirements for scuba diving. Retail is $1,195.
